Jim Rogers: Natural Gas Prices are very Low

ET Now: Not only are prices of crude oil declining, but prices of natural gas have also slipped quite fast. What is your sense about the whole sector? Currently, gas is down and oil is firm.

Jim Rogers: Natural gas prices are very low. They are down 60-70 per cent from their all-time high. There has been a glut in the US in a way where the prices have been set on the futures exchanges. That glut is probably not going to last much longer, so I would suspect that natural gas is a good bet for people to start looking for investments.  - in ET Now

Natural Gas prices have quadrupled since the bottom

Q: What are your thoughts on developments in recent years that have unlocked shale oil and gas? Some have said the U.S. energy boom is the most important development in political economy in decades.

Jim Rogers : I would urge people to go out and see what’s happening in the field. Yes, it was all very exciting in the beginning. But now we’re finding out that those wells are very short-life wells. Production dropped by 40 to 60 percent in the first year, and the demand for rigs to drill in the shale fields is down 75 percent in the last couple of years. The demand for pumps is down 50 percent.
So it’s not as much fun as we’d hope it would be. In some countries such as Poland, people have given up their shale leases, because they’ve realized it’s just not so simple. I read all the hype, but again I’d urge people to go into the fields and see what’s actually happened, rather than reading what journalists hype.
Natural-gas prices have quadrupled since the bottom. They’re not quadrupling because this is the most important thing in several decades.  - in investing.com

Natural Gas vs. Oil

Jim Rogers: Well, If natural gas stays this low compared to oil prices, it does give an incentive to develop natural gas-powered vehicles, and I think we are going to see more and more developments here. Is it going to end the use of oil, combustion engines? Probably not any time soon. Someday it could, but someday is a long way away. - in oilprice

Jim Rogers : Natural Gas closer to the bottom than the top

Jim Rogers : “I want to own real assets. I want to invest in companies that produce real goods. Shortages are getting worse, not better.” He would rather own natural gas at these prices than shorting the commodity. Jim Rogers thinks we’re closer to the bottom than the top in natural gas. - in ETFtrades

Jim Rogers bullish on Silver and natural gas

Commodities guru Jim Rogers Chairman, of Rogers Holdings said in an interview with the Indian TV ET Now on 25 Apr 2011 that he like depressed commodities like silver and natural : " I prefer to look at the things that are still depressed. Natural gas is depressed compared to oil, silver is depressed compared to gold. I would rather look at the things within those sectors to see what are the things that are still depressed and see if maybe that is where we should be putting money. "

Jim Rogers : bullish on Natural Gas and Sugar

Jim Rogers :"I am long on natural gas as a matter of fact but I have never said that someone should buy natural gas. You might look at it instead of crude. Crude is very very high compared to natural gas. I would think you will probably find opportunities in natural gas. How high will it go, I have no idea. I am not smart enough to know that. You should watch your TV everyday and then you would know. The world is running out of known reserves of oil and over the next decade or so, the surprise is going to be how high the price of energy goes and how high it stays. We are running out of energy whether you like it or not. "
and regarding Sugar legendary investor Jim Rogers has this to say :"Sugar is up 300% or 400% from its lows of a few years ago. If you are talking about just this year, it has come down dramatically. I would rather be long sugar than short sugar. I have not owned sugar at the moment but I do not know whether one should buy it or not. I am not very good at market timing but sugar is another way to play energy plus sugar is another way to play the emerging prosperity in much of the world. "

Jim Rogers outlook for Natural Gas Oil Silver Gold
Silver Vs Gold And Oil Vs Natural Gas
"I like to buy what's cheapest. Silver is cheaper than gold, on a historical basis; natural gas is cheaper than oil. We see more and more speculation in oil and gold. And in these times, it's usually best to step back and let others speculate."
