Jim Rogers Dow 1 Million Sure Why Not ?

Jim Rogers Was Here!

Recently by Jim Rogers: Dow 1 Million? Sure, Why Not?

It came as a pleasant surprise and will certainly stimulate Colombo’s stock market which is yet to take off after the LTTE was defeated in May, ending over 25 years of fighting. Unknown to many, Jim Rogers, a 67-year-old entrepreneur who first started business as a 5 year-old selling peanuts and then went on to co-found the mega Quantum Fund with billionaire George Soros, visited Sri Lanka last week in a trip that would have raised a lot of interest if those, particularly, in the private sector were aware.
Rogers, an investor with an adventurous streak and frequently quoted by news media on investment options where he has said Sri Lanka is a better bet than India or China, had spent three days here and also visited Kandy. There was no confirmation as to whether he met corporate bosses or private sector executives and whether he came on invitation from the government (he had met mostly government bigwigs) or flew in as a tourist.

Rogers has said that he would recommend to investors the sectors that they need to put their money in, and if this is true, that’s a huge boost to Sri Lanka. Last month, a Central Bank team of officials went on an ‘investment update’ to Singapore, Hong Kong, the US – Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, New York, London, Bahrain, Dubai and Mumbai meeting some 105 big-time investors and explaining investment prospects.

Jim Rogers Bullish on commodities China and Canada

Jim Rogers the Legendary investor In a very recent interview with the Canadian The Globe and Mail said he continues to be bullish on China and commodities. He profoundly believes that China is the place to invest and of course the best thing to invest in China are commodities agricultural farming mining precious metals sugar cotton and copper amongst others. Jim Rogers is also very bullish on the Canadian Market he said "Canada is probably one of the better-placed countries in the world right now, and the Canadian dollar is probably one of the soundest currencies in the world right now, on a fundamental basis. I have only good things to say about investing in Canada. "
Rogers is also very bullish on Asia and China in particular , he even moved from New York to Singapore because he believes that the future and the money are all now in Asia .Jim Rogers said about China and Commodities : "If you want to invest in China, the best way to play it now is to buy commodities – because China has to buy commodities. Or buy the currency. The stock market? I own shares, I haven't bought any since October or November of 2008.

The economy is growing because they're spending to make it grow. They built up a lot of reserves for a rainy day, and now they're spending them, since it is raining. But is it real? We won't know for several years. The rest of the world may have problems that would affect some parts of the Chinese economy." Jim Rogers believes that the commodities are the best place to be either the market picked up or not "If the world economy is going to get better, commodities will lead the way, because of the shortages. I cannot imagine a better place to be. When you come off periods like this, you want to be in the things where the fundamentals are getting better – those are the ones that always lead the next bull market.

If the economy is not going to improve, commodities are still the best place to be … because governments are printing huge amounts of money all over the world. "

Jim Rogers America owns the car industry

America has become a socialist and maybe even communist nation in many ways : Jim Rogers

In his Latest interview with moneynews.newsmax.com dated 07/15/2009 by Dan Mangru Rogers said :
"“America now owns the car industry. America owns the mortgage industry. America owns a lot of the insurance industry,”

“Karl Marx must be somewhere standing up in his grave cheering.” And why is that? “America has become a socialist and maybe even communist nation in many ways,”
In Asia, by contrast, “they’re not doing that. In Asia, they’re getting rid of state and government ownership,” he said.
Regarding the Stimulus Jim Rogers said :
"“The first stimulus didn’t work. The second stimulus didn’t work. The third stimulus hasn’t worked,” he said.

“They’ve been doing the wrong thing for over two years. Nothing has worked. I don’t know why they think this is going to work. This is going to make things worse, too.”
“It didn’t work in Japan, and Japan was a creditor nation… It’s not going to work for us, either.”
About the FED BenBernanke and his mania of printing more money jim Rogers says :
“Printing money has been tried many times throughout history in many countries,” he said. “It has never worked in the long term; it has never worked in the medium-term. Occasionally, it has worked in the short term.”

Still, he says, “Printing money is going to lead to serious problems down the road.”

The amounts involved are staggering, Rogers said. “They’ve already injected huge amounts of money into the system. The Fed has more than tripled its balance sheet in the past year or so.”

The federal government “has increased its own debt by four, five, six times,” he said.

“We don’t know much, because they took over Fannie Mae, AIG and the rest of them who had huge debts, which we are now responsible for,” he said.
Jim Rogers "the 19th century was the century of the UK , the 20th century was the century of the US , the 21 st century is going to be the century of China "
