April 02, 2010 — Yesterday China agreed to come to the negotiating table to talk sanctions against Iran after many pleas by Western allies to do so. Conveniently, the United States wont say whether or not they will release a report that could claim China is a currency manipulator. Is this just a ploy to keep China from backing away from the negotiating table?

Economic tension between America and China could get even worse thanks to a draft bill going through the U.S. senate. If passed, the legislation would mean penalties being imposed on China if it fails to revalue its currency. But American author Webster Tarpley says America is just trying to sabotage the strength of China's growing economy.
The US senate wants to level the playing field with China as they introduce a new bill aimed at controlling foreign currencies. The senate introduced legislation today that condemns currency manipulation by foreign governments as an unfair subsidy and would slap those governments with US trade restrictions.
