Jim Rogers : India should be one of the most productive agriculture nations in the world

In an Interview with The indian magazine ET Jim Rogers answered how he sees Indian agriculture :"I am happy that they are getting seriously worried about it after 50 years or 60 years or whatever it is. But India should be one of the most productive agriculture nations in the world. You have got the land, you have got the soil, you have got the weather. Everything is right for India and yet, there are so many regulations and it is almost impossible for Indian farmers to produce much less to compete with the rest of the world. You know as well as I knew that thousands of Indian farmers commit suicide every year because they cannot make the living and yet in India you should be putting America to shame with your agriculture production instead of sitting and having the import.

Who is Jim Rogers ?

James "Jim" Rogers was born in Oct. 19, 1942 and grew up in Demopolis, Alabama .Jim Rogers started trading the stock market with $600 in 1968.In 1973 he formed the Quantum Fund with the legendry investor George Soros before retiring, a multi millionaire at the age of 37. Rogers and Soros helped steer the fund to a miraculous 4,200% return over the 10 year span of the fund while the S&P 500 returned just 47%. They ran what is considered to be one of the first truly global macro hedge funds. . He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
