Jim Rogers started trading the stock market with $600 in 1968.In 1973 he formed the Quantum Fund with the legendary investor George Soros before retiring, a multi millionaire at the age of 37. Rogers and Soros helped steer the fund to a miraculous 4,200% return over the 10 year span of the fund while the S&P 500 returned just 47%.

AFF Asian Financial Forum 2010 Honk Kong

More than 1,000 bankers and financial professionals at the Asian Financial Forum 2010 provided insights, especially for new global investment opportunities and challenges. E Gerald Corrigan of Goldman Sachs and Lou Jiwei of China Investment Corporation shared their views on global investment opportunities. Tu Guangshao, Vice Mayor of Shanghai, emphasised that Shanghai will not replace Hong Kong as China's financial hub, while Victor Fung expressed concerns on a "sustainable recovery" amidst a high unemployment rate and a "demand deficit".
On this second day of the Asian Financial Forum 2010, speakers expressed their views on the balance between financial innovation and regulation. The environment was also one of the major focus of discussions. Richard Sandor, Chairman and founder of Chicago Climate Exchange, believes that China can become the preeminent market for trading carbon emissions. Jing Ulrich, Managing Director and Chairman of Chinese Equities and Commodities, JP Morgan, said that huge infrastructure projects in China will be more open to private and foreign investors, and serve as a catalyst for China to develop more sophisticated financial instruments for both domestic and foreign investors.
