China leads world in IPOs CCTV News

Chinese mainland market has led the way for initial public offerings this year. It had both the biggest number of companies debuting on the board, and a record amount of money raised.

Nearly 350 companies issued more than 58 billion shares in China this year, raising nearly 490 billion yuan. The Agriculture Bank of China, one of China's big-four state-owned banks, contributed the most to this year's record. That was the world's second biggest IPO in 2010.

Analysts say the record IPOs were achieved against a backdrop of ample cash and a strong economy, while other countries struggled in the wake of the recession. http://www.cctv.com
