Jim Rogers on Singapore vs. Hing Kong as the Financial Center for South East Asia : "Singapore is certainly going to be the business center of what you call South East Asia , Hong Kong is going to be a major financial center of Asia , Singapore and Hong Kong will probably be the two and Singapore certainly of this region , it is one of the great advantages that Singapore has is they have both the English and the Chinese language but so does Hong Kong , but it's an open and law abiding society so Singapore will certainly become the financial center , may be the financial center of Asia and one of the financial centers of the world in the next couple of decades . Many people want to be in Hong Kong because it is the gateway to China on the other hand it's the gateway to China and if China changes its mind about anything or if Beijing takes a different approach that might not be so good , Singapore is certainly neutral for all the countries in South East Asia , Hong Kong is viewed as part of China , now that's good and bad , So Singapore has a big advantage , The Indians for instance they rather come to Singapore rather than to Hong Kong, many people would rather come to Singapore rather than to Hong Kong because they don't know what's going to happen in China . many south asian Chinese had rather come to Singapore than China .
