Young People Not Going Into Agriculture
The world has consumed more than it has produced for the last decade
which means of course thst inventories are near historic lows. We have
low inventories which is bad but even worse than that, we are running
out of farmers. The average age of farmers in America is 58, in japan is
66 and no young people are going into agriculture.

Jim Rogers started trading the stock market with $600 in 1968.In 1973 he formed the Quantum Fund with the legendary investor George Soros before retiring, a multi millionaire at the age of 37. Rogers and Soros helped steer the fund to a miraculous 4,200% return over the 10 year span of the fund while the S&P 500 returned just 47%.
I don't know why this is a surprise. What is the incentive?
ReplyDeleteThe government in very farmer-unfriendly, and it takes more than the love of the land and animals to make a living. Too hard work with little reward.
