Jim Rogers : Gold was acting very unusually for the last 12 years and was overdue for a decline

Jim Rogers : "If it goes to $1,300, I hope I am smart enough to buy some," said Rogers. "If it goes lower to $1,200, I hope to buy even more. If ... that's not a prediction. "Gold was acting very unusually for the last 12 years and was overdue for a decline," Rogers added. "Gold will make a proper bottom before resuming the bull market." - in hardassetinvestor

Jim Rogers : Once Gold Bottoms, We are Looking at A Multi-Year Bull Market

Jim Rogers : "I don't know of any asset that's gone up 12 years in a row without a down year ... equally important is the fact that gold has one correction of 30% - as much as 30% - in 12 years. Now that's very strange. Most [assets] correct 30% every year or two. That's just the way markets work. The peculiar action in gold has been the 12 years [without that correction]. So it was certainly setting us all up for some kind of correction." - in commodityonline

Jim Rogers : We are running out of Farmers

Jim Rogers : "Agriculture has been such a disaster for 30 years that we are running out of farmers," he said. "The average age of farmers in America is 58. In Japan, it's 66. I could go on and on. The demographics [for those hoping for lower food prices over time] are terrible. At the same time, nobody's going [into farming] - no young people. In America, more people study public relations than study agriculture. So the old ones are dying and retiring, and no young [replacement farmers] are coming in." - in commodityonline
